QA Engineer, EMEA (m/f/d)

ASB GlassFloor • GlassCourt OS • Netherlands (Hybrid)

About the job

At ASB GlassFloor we are proud to have developed the most advanced indoor sports and event flooring product; a fully professional grade sports surface with integrated LED, which provides an incredibly exciting new playing field for professional sports, entertainment and even education.

At the heart of this innovation lies GlassCourt OS (GCOS) – an interactive software solution that acts as a central hub to process real-time data and display visually stunning content on LED court hardware. The platform supports professional coaching through player tracking and with real-time feedback, as well as sponsorship and marketing activations, live broadcasts, and immersive sport event experiences.

Since launching in 2023, and with the support of leading sports institutions such as FIBA, EuroLeague and the NBA, ASB GlassFloor have hosted the FIBA U19 Women’s World Cup, NBA All-Star Weekend and FIBA Champions League Final Four, as well as having permanent courts at FC Bayern Munich Basketball, Panathinaikos A.O. in Athens, and the ASB x NBA Athlete Lab in Orlando, Florida.

This hybrid role is hired out of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, suitable for candidates within a commutable distance of central Amsterdam.

What you’ll do

As our QA Engineer, you’ll look after the reliability, performance, and user experience of our deeply integrated software. You will test across backend, frontend, apps and embedded systems to ensure that GCOS works flawlessly in environments where reliability is non‑negotiable.

Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Test our systems end-to-end across our backend, iPad app, Unity apps and our Media Manager
  • Test the interaction between software and LED hardware, tracking systems, sensors, etc
  • Design, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and regression suites.
  • Validate real‑time data flows, animations, system states, and reliability under load.
  • Reproduce issues, isolate root causes, and collaborate with engineers for resolution.

Quality Strategy & Process

  • Shape the overall QA strategy, defining quality standards and best practices.
  • Introduce structure around test documentation, risk analysis, and release readiness.
  • Improve internal QA processes, suggesting tools or workflows to increase reliability and speed.

Test Automation

  • Identify automation opportunities that deliver measurable value.
  • Contribute to or help establish test automation across layers
  • Collaborate with engineers to embed automated checks into CI/CD pipelines.

Cross-functional collaboration

  • Work closely with backend, frontend, iOS, Unity, hardware, and event operations teams.
  • Participate in refinements and reviews to bring a quality perspective early in the process.
  • Partner with our support team, validate fixes, incidents, and edge cases observed in the field.
  • Join on-site testing sessions at courts when required

Participate in a rotating schedule that may include weekends, public holidays, and out-of-hours support

Travel within Europe and the USA for onsite work may be required

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone who is analytical, structured, curious, and passionate about building a great quality culture. You’re not only a tester, you bring a QA vision, understand modern testing practices, and help guide the organisation toward continuous quality improvements.

  • Professional experience (ideally 3+ years) in testing, or QA engineering, preferably across multiple platforms.
  • Strong experience testing multi-layered systems
  • Familiarity with Unity or other game engines is a plus.
  • Experience testing iOS apps
  • Understanding of (REST) APIs, logs, system behaviour, and reverse proxies
  • Comfortable working in an agile environment, balancing rapid iteration with reliability
  • A structured mindset: able to create clear test cases, documentation, and defect reports.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to isolate and diagnose issues across complex systems.
  • Experience or interest in test automation (frameworks, scripting, or conceptual understanding).
  • A proactive, quality-first attitude with the ability to propose improvements rather than only identify issues.
  • Adaptable interpersonal skills, with excellent verbal and written communication in English, and a strong focus on clear documentation
  • Fluency in English is required; Dutch and/or German is a plus but not essential
  • Legally permitted to work in the Netherlands, or willing to relocate.

What we offer

  • Inside Professional Sports: Access to international professional sport, sporting events and personalities.
  • Real flexibility: you have the choice to work hybrid or in the office full-time with the freedom of flexible working hours to structure your day fitting your needs.
  • High impact from day one: your work will directly influence the product, customers, and how we operate as a company.
  • Open communication: your voice matters and your contributions are visible.
  • Collaborative and supportive team: you will work alongside driven, ambitious people who care about building great products, without layers of management.
  • Purpose driven work: you’ll be joining at a formative stage to shape the future of indoor sports, performance technology, and fan engagement.
  • 30 days paid annual leave
  • Paid parental leave: irrespective of parenting role
